Appraise a Candidate

You can evaluate candidates using a star rating and capture notes related to each aspect. A star rating between 0 and 5 can be assigned to each of the following aspects for a candidate:

  • Experience
  • Skills & knowledge
  • Formal qualification
  • Character
  • CV
  • Cover letter
  • Interview performance

The appraisal feature also allows you to capture the below for a candidate:

  • Feedback/comments
  • Challenge areas
  • Additional information
  • Suggested interview questions

Please Note: A candidate can be appraised by multiple users. You can also view other users’ appraisals and notes to compare candidates during the recruitment process.

Prerequisites: 

To complete this process:  

  • You must have “Read access” granted to your account for the Users > Hiring > Jobs permission (available to Administrators or above)

OR

  • If assigned to a specific job, you must have “Read access” granted for  the Users > Hiring > Assigned jobs permission (available to Administrators and above).

AND

  • You must have “Full access” granted to your account for the Users > Hiring > Candidate talentpool permission (available to Administrators or above)

OR

  • If assigned to a specific job, you must have “Full access” granted for  the Users > Hiring > Assigned candidates permission (available to Administrators and above).

How to complete this flow:

  1. In the candidate’s mini-profile, select the job which you want to appraise.
  2. Click the “Appraisal” tab.  
  3. Click the required star rating to apply a rating to each aspect. On hovering over the stars, the rating given on click will be indicated.
  4. Optionally, click on the “note” icon to open a free text box in which you can capture notes against each aspect.
  5. Enter free text into the following areas:
    • Feedback
    • Challenge areas
    • Additional information
  6. Click “Save” to save the appraisal for the candidate.
