The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the world of work, with many people losing their jobs or questioning the work they find fulfilling, and employers struggling to find the right talent. In response to this, the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) launched a social initiative called JobsConnect in April 2022. This free career and recruitment tool is available to 1.2 million residents and aims to connect individuals and companies through sustainable job placements.
Long-term partners Cognisess have fully integrated their platform into the JobsConnect user flow, enabling job seekers to play games and assessments to understand the type of work that is suited to them, create a digital CV that can be shared with recruiters, and search and apply for positions through the integrated jobs board. This seamless integration has made the job-matching process easier, more efficient, and more effective than ever before.
The JobsConnect initiative has already helped countless individuals find meaningful employment and has connected companies with the talented people they need to grow and succeed. A full case study report on the Cognisess/JobsConnect initiative is available for free download, with details on how the JobsConnect model can be adapted by Enterprise Organisations to drive talent sustainability, skills fluidity, wellbeing, and equality.
"We are proud to be a part of JobsConnect and to play a role in restoring prosperity to the Southwest," says Stephen Bashford, Director of Business Skills at WECA. "Cognisess is making a huge impact through sustainable job placements; driving job satisfaction, and mental wellbeing for individuals as well as growth & improvement for companies."
At Cognisess, we believe that everyone deserves to find a job they love and that matches their unique skill set. By partnering with WECA on the JobsConnect initiative, we are making that goal a reality. We look forward to continuing to work together to create a brighter future for the Southwest and beyond.
